Leonard Ray Pollard
1931 ~ 2018
Leonard entered God's Kingdom and began his walk with his Savior Jesus Christ on September 18, 2018.
Leonard was born November 6, 1931 to Owen and Lucille Pollard, in Hollister, Ca.
He spent most of his High School years in Roseburg and Myrtle Creek, Oregon, working for the local mills. He joined the Navy in September 6, 1950. He served on U.S.S. Clarion, LSMR 409, and deployed to Korea during the shelling of Inchon Harbor. He was awarded the National Defense Ribbon, United Nations Service Ribbon, Korean Service Ribbon
(4 stars) and Navy Occupation (Asia), He was honorably discharged July 29, 1954 and returned to Myrtle Creek. He started work with COPCO, which later became Pacific Power and Light where he remained for the next 43 years. Leonard always said his greatest satisfaction was keeping people in power. At the ire of his managers, he sometimes failed to disconnect homes that couldn't afford their power bill and even paid a few out of his own pocket!
Leonard was always extremely faithful and loved his Church, The Fair Oaks Community Church, where he and his wife Pat Wiles-Pollard rarely missed a Sunday in 12 years!
Leonard is survived by his wife Pat, his Brother Dean, Sons, Randy and Brian, Daughters, Cindi Pollard-McAyeal and Debra Pollard- Huff.
There are 13 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren.
A Church service and celebration of life will be held at The Fair Oaks Community Church on October 14, 2018 at 1230 p.m.
A VA Service will be held at the Eagle Point National Cemetery in the Spring of 2019, probably May.
